Xbox Live is in charge when it comes to downloadable content. The latest game that you should play is the third Commando game. Fans will remember the original game, while others won’t. If the name isn’t a big enough seller then the beta version to Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix will help out.

The original Commando came out in 1985. Five years later a sequel came out. Both of these games were shoot-em-ups, sort of like Smash TV. Instead of winning big prizes you just got to kill anybody that shot at you. Pretty simple, huh?

Earlier this year Capcom released another shoot-em-up, Rocketmen: Axis of Evil. This game and Commando 3 play almost the same, even some of the achievement points feel the same too.

You get to pick from three characters, all of which have different stats. I truthfully don’t see a difference in any of these three, they all play exactly the same. What is up with the characters names too, Wolf, Coyote, and Fox? Pretty funny stuff and their pictures will make you laugh too.

Commando 3 is fun, it just doesn’t offer too much. Weapon upgrades seem to be fairly pointless and enemy fire can be avoided without any problems. The worst weapon upgrade is the rocket launcher, but at the same time it is the most powerful. There just seems to be this delay that seems to put you at a disadvantage.

The graphics are pretty, but nothing to brag about. Certain things in the game just look flat and your surroundings look bland. Remember this is the same team that is bringing out the HD version of Street Fighter II.

With two people playing you can beat this game in less than two hours. There are four difficulty settings, most of which feel the same. Commando 3 is just a challenging game at all, though playing together with other people can help out.

One of the biggest reasons to buy this game is for the beta version of Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix. The beta is now available to download. Right now the game looks amazing, I just don’t see why you need to spend $10 to play this demo. There isn’t a whole lot of demo here people, keep this into consideration.

Final Verdict
I sort of have this love, hate relationship for Commando 3. One minute I really enjoy it and then the next I am wishing those points were still on my account. For a modern day shooter that costs this little, you can’t complain too much I guess.
