Mountain Dew White Out
Reviewer: Eric
Is the Pepsi Company going to do this whole DEWmocracy thing every year? It
seems that way so let’s get started with White Out, the white looking Mountain
Dew that looks real cool. Trust me just because the thought of a white colored
Mountain Dew sounds good doesn’t mean it should be the winner by default.
The taste here is very similar to the regular Mountain Dew. White Out’s
flavoring is Smooth Citrus. That is nice and all but why couldn’t they have
described the whole Smooth Citrus thing a little better? Because all I am
indulging myself in is a flat Mountain Dew that is colored white. I’m pretty
sure it is better to have a good flavor than a pretty color.
If the Pepsi Co. might have actually used citrus flavoring from outside of the
box we could have had a pretty good Mountain Dew, one that isn’t the same thing.
I don’t know if it is just my taste buds, but the first flavor from DEWmocracy 2
is a big dud.
The packaging here is unique, as are all of the DEWmocracy flavors this year.
White Out’s label was designed by Andre Zottolo, whom is a DEW fan (thank you
for adding that one in there Pepsi). The logo is the same but the background has
a splash look to it with an ocean like background in the splash area. It gives
the drink a feel that you might be enjoying it under the sea, I don’t know.
Does White Out give you the same amount of energy as the other Mountain Dew’s
do? Yeah, it is pretty much the same. Mountain Dew in general has always given
me more of a perkiness than normal sodas. Maybe that is why the drink is the
official drink of World of Warcraft and gamers across the globe.
So the price mark on White Out. I paid $1.49 for a 20 fluid ounce bottle. I was
all gay for these new flavors so I also bought a 12 pack, which was $4.99
regular price, but there was a sale going on so I didn’t thankfully have to pay
that much. I want to say that these prices are the same as other sodas but I
can’t since all of the Coke products were 20 cents cheaper, same with other
Pepsi beverages. I think the Pepsi Company is charging a little more with these
three flavors.
Final Verdict
The one Mountain Dew I thought that was going to be real good ended up being a
beverage I wouldn’t mind spilling for my fallen homies. I really do like how
this one looks but if I want a flat Mountain Dew that tastes like this I can
just stick with the other one because they are the same. Since this might be a
limited time only flavor go ahead and pay the extra few dimes.
