Here we go again. Marvel Zombies 3 is the latest event that is expanding on the whole Marvel Zombie Universe. The last event was a huge step backwards and hopefully the new team of Fred Van Lente and Kev Walker and turn things around. Are the Zombies ready to take over the Marvel Universe all over again or is this a ticking bomb that’s ready to go off?

A.R.M.O.R. (Alternate Reality Monitoring and Operational Response Agency) is an organization that is trying to take out the zombies. This is not the easiest task as we have seen in the past Marvel Zombie stories. Even before things get going though we have to get over the fact that Fred Van Lente introduced another new organization. Did we really need A.R.M.O.R.? I don’t think so, Lente should have just used S.H.I.E.L.D. but maybe that wouldn’t have made too much sense…

The team behind A.R.M.O.R. is laughable. There are characters on the team that look just like other Marvel characters. Instead of calling them after the names they look like we have corny names like Machine Man. Really, Machine Man? Oh well at least we have Morbius, a Marvel character that never gets the proper reception.

Adding robots into this battle just makes things silly. Zombies vs. Humans vs. Robots. Why not change the Humans to Amazons. That way things would be completely unoriginal.

Lente sort of just drops off these characters and runs with it. The battle between A.R.M.O.R. and the zombie Deadpool is extremely bad. For starters Deadpool just feel strange. The fight, oh God the fight is just sad. Fans will eat this issue up for one reason. There is enough blood in issue one to make all the other Zombie comics from Marvel look tame.

Kev Walker’s art is all about gore. The actual art itself is not as good as the gore. I hate it when the artist, in this case Walker, is putting all the attention into one factor. The Zombies have always been known for having some of the gorest issues (Marvel only) and this one takes the cake. I just wish Walker put more time into everything else.

Final Verdict
I am not sure how I feel about the latest Marvel Zombies event. For starters I think the story started off in the wrong direction and we only have three more issues to make things right. Is this enough to turn the series around? I hope so, I really do.
